Boeing F-4B

The Boeing F4B was one of the most iconic American fighter aircraft of the period between the World Wars. Serving as the backbone of U.S. naval aviation in the early 1930s. At this time the US Navy's airplanes were colorful. In the event of going down at sea the aircraft would be easier to spot by rescuers. In addition the Navy, competing with the Army for congressional monies wanted good press and approval from the public.
