Bronco over Di-An
Stunning OV-10 Bronco print.
$43.00
The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco is a rugged, twin-turboprop light attack and observation aircraft specifically designed for counter-insurgency (COIN) operations. First taking flight in 1965, it is instantly recognizable by its twin-boom design, high horizontal stabilizer, and a "greenhouse" canopy that offers the two-man crew exceptional visibility. Australia was a strong US ally during the South-east Asian conflict. In addition to regular Australian forces, RAAF exchange pilots flew with the USAF. A red kangaroo was often stenciled on the aircraft’s nose.
Beyond its distinctive look, the Bronco was engineered for extreme versatility: it could take off from short, unimproved clearings, operate from aircraft carriers without a catapult, and even carry up to five paratroopers or two medical litters in its rear cargo bay. Throughout its service, most notably during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm, it excelled as a forward air control (FAC) platform, loitering over battlefields for hours to mark targets and provide close air support with its internal machine guns and external rocket pods.
The "Bronco over Dî An" print is available in four variations. The inexpensive 10x15 inch print is a great gift for any aviator. The 16X24 inch print is the perfect size for the office or hangar. The Standard Stock paper is an outstanding value, while the Fine Art paper adds texture and depth to the work.
